Honors and awards for our researchers, students and employees
Working at FAU is “excellent” – a large number of honors and awards for our researchers, students and employees regularly prove this. This month, the following members of FAU were delighted to receive recognition.
Awards
Titus Bornträger, FAU physics student, and a student team consisting of Finnley Paolella (University of Bonn), Theo Lequy (ETH Zurich) and Elias Hohl (ETH Zurich) took first place in the international physics competition PLANCKS. PLANCKS is an annual international physics competition for physics students. It is a four-hour written exam in which 10 theoretical physics problems are solved in teams of up to four students. The aim of the event is also to promote international exchange among the participants and to get to know the local research institutions. PLANCKS is organized every year by different national physics student associations.
Functions
Prof. Dr. Dirk M. Guldi, Chair of Physical Chemistry and PI of the profile center, was elected Spokesperson of the Review Board for Physical Chemistry of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The review boards evaluate proposals to the DFG in a three-stage process consisting of review, evaluation and decision. They compare all the proposals submitted to them to identify the projects most worthy of funding within the given financial framework. In this way, they ensure that proposals are assessed according to uniform standards across all DFG programs.
Prof. Dr. Martin Vossiek, Chair of High Frequency Technology and PI of the profile center, was elected Spokesperson of the Review Board for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the German Research Foundation (DFG).The review boards evaluate proposals to the DFG in a three-stage process consisting of review, evaluation and decision.
