On Friday, 26th April 2024, the FAU Profile Center Light.Matter.QuantumTechnologies hosted its first internal one-day workshop at the FAU’s Guesthouse Villa Jordan in Erlangen. Beginning with a warm welcome to the numerous participants by FAU LMQ’s speaker Prof. Dr. Kai-Phillip Schmidt, the workshop continued with presentations focusing on the integrated and affiliated structures of FAU LMQ:
- TRR 306 Quantum Cooperativity of Light and Matter (QuCoLiMa)
- QuNET initiative
- Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) with its lighthouse projects in Erlangen (QuMeCo, QuKommIn)
- Erlangen National High Performance Computing Center (NHR@FAU)
- Graduate Schools Planar Carbon Lattices (RTG-2861-PCL), Engineering of Advanced Materials (FAU EAM GS), and Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies (SAOT)
In addition, proposals associated with the excellence initiative as well as planned collaborative research centers have been presented. Each session was followed by vibrant discussions among the members of FAU LMQ. The workshop was concluded by brainstorming ideas and prospects for the future of the FAU Profile Center Light.Matter.QuantumTechnologies.
