PIs from LMQ elected to DFG review boards

Janina Maultzsch and Martin Vossiek from the Profile Center LMQ were elected, among other professors from FAU, to review boards of the Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft (DFG).

The election of the review boards takes place every four years by almost 150,000 scientists and academics that are eligible to vote. The review boards are responsible for evaluating proposals handed in to the DFG. All proposals submitted to them are compared to identify the projects most worthy of funding within the given financial framework.

This is intended to ensure that proposals are assessed by the same standards across all DFG programs. In addition, the review boards are involved in the further development and design of the DFG’s funding programs and in the discussion of funding policy issues.
